Most Russians live out their love to nature* in combination with something useful. Hardly anyone goes hiking. The collecting of mushrooms, on the other hand, is a popular recreational activity. Trips to the lakes are mostly combined with angling. Almost everyone who lives in a town or city has a “Datscha”. A property with a size of up to 1 ha where all possible useful plants provide a balanced supply of vitamins for the family. Our host families go on trips with you to the beautiful birch forests  or to the many picturesque lakes and rivers of the Eastern European level.

*The focus of Metternich holidays is not placed the really wild nature with spectacular experiences such as the Lena- crossing, viewing the volcano on Kamchatka or even driving a car on frozen marshes.
